Paola Giorgis

Paola Giorgis (BA, MA in English and North American Literature and Studies) has completed a Ph.D. in Anthropology of Education and Intercultural Pedagogy. She has extensive experience in teaching the English language and literature, as well as visual arts. As a volunteer, she has taught Italian L2 to migrants and refugees. From these experiences, she developed an interest in how an-other language can reproduce or problematize discourses and representations of the Other.
On the relationship between otherness, language, and power, she has published monographs, articles, and chapters in collective works; she has also participated and organised several international conferences. She is an associate editor of the international journal Intercultural Education.
She created and coordinates the international project of the online dictionary In Other Words (IOW):www.iowdictionary.org

Giorgia Peano

Giorgia Peano holds a Ph.D. in Human Sciences, with a focus on Education and Training Sciences. She conducted several ethnographic research studies in multicultural contexts, publishing a monograph that explores the relationship between Romani students and the school institution, as well as various contributions on the topics of Anthropology of Education and Intercultural Pedagogy.
She obtained a university specialization as support teacher and currently works as a teacher in primary school, committing herself to building inclusive educational paths and offering personalized pedagogical support for children with special educational needs. Her interests include cognitive empowerment, the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), the creation of intercultural pathways, and teaching Italian as a second language.

Isabella Pescarmona

Isabella Pescarmona, Ph.D. in Anthropology of Education and Intercultural Pedagogy, is Associate Professor of General and Social Pedagogy at the University of Turin (Italy). She is a member and lecturer at the School of Doctoral Studies in Psychological, Anthropological, and Educational Sciences (SPAP) in Turin and at the School of Doctoral Studies in National Interest in Peace Studies, La Sapienza University of Rome. Her research interests concern intercultural pedagogy and anti-racist studies, intersectional feminist studies, professional development for educators and teachers, cooperative and active teaching methodologies, which she investigates through ethnographic and participatory research from a perspective of social justice and intercultural citizenship.

Rebecca SansoƩ

Rebecca SansoĆ©, is an independent researcher in the field of anthropology and social history in contemporary times. She earned her Ph.D. in Human Sciences from the University of Turin. Currently, she is a tenured support teacher and Philosophy and History teacher in high schools in the province of Turin. Her research focuses on young generations of immigrants and their integration into educational pathways and vocational training. She has taken part in several collective publications on cultural diversity and inequalities. More recently, she dedicated herself to archival research on soldiers' letters between World War I and World War II and on the Resistance in Val Pellice (Piedmont), on which she published two monographs.

Federica Setti

Federica Setti holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology of Education from the University of Turin.  She teaches Italian and Italian literature at a Comprehensive Institute in Trento. Her research interests range from educational processes in multicultural societies to linguistic anthropology and migration studies and language teaching.
She conducted long-term ethnographic research on inter-ethnic relations between 'majority' and 'minority' ethnic groups and national societies.
Currently, she is an intercultural referent at the Institute where she teaches, with a particular commitment to promoting the valorization and positive protagonism of second-generation students and their families in educational institutions and territories.

Elisa Sartore

Elisa Sartore earned her Ph.D. in Anthropology of Education discussing a thesis on the pedagogical value of intercultural storytelling and criticism of approaches to cultural diversity. Her heterogeneous training, professional activity carried out in different contexts, and personal interests lead her to research realities and protagonists traditionally considered 'minorities'.

Elisa was part of womaned until 2018.
